Spokeo Watch is not a consumer reporting agency as defined by the Fair Credit Reporting Act, 15 U.S.C. § 1681 et seq. (FCRA). The information available through Spokeo Watch may not be used as a factor in establishing an individual's eligibility for credit, insurance, employment, housing, or any other purpose covered by the FCRA.
Prohibited Uses — You May NOT Use Spokeo Watch To:
Determine any person's eligibility for credit or insurance
Evaluate a person for employment, promotion, reassignment, or retention as an employee
Make tenant screening or housing decisions
Evaluate a person for any other purpose covered under the FCRA
Stalk, harass, or intimidate any individual
Investigate or surveil any person for any unlawful purpose
Collect a debt from any consumer
Violate any applicable federal, state, or local law
Permitted Uses
Spokeo Watch is intended solely for personal use, including:
Monitoring your own personal information for changes
Staying informed about publicly available information associated with people you know
Reconnecting with lost friends or family members
Personal safety and awareness for yourself and your immediate family
User Certification Requirement
All Spokeo Watch users must certify — prior to account creation — that they will not use the service for any FCRA-covered purpose or any purpose that is unlawful or violates another person's rights. This certification is collected during the account registration process and is a condition of access.
